34 Weeks and Still Partying
We had our final baby shower a couple of weeks ago with the Higbee side of the family. It was great- my mom made A LOT of delicious food and instead of playing games, we just chatted with cousins and other relatives we don't see too often. I think it was also memorable in that there were possibly the most kids in that house that I have ever seen. It was exciting thinking that our girl will be playing with them all someday, too. Of course, we were having too much fun to take many pictures, but that's good, right?
We are getting pretty far along in the pregnancy. I'm only a few days away from the point at which my mom had me, so we're trying to be prepared for anything. Chances are, though, it will be a while- I still have 5 1/2 weeks until the due date, but we accept that anything can happen.
She's been moving around a lot and it's still very entertaining for us to watch limbs move around in my abdomen. As excited as I am to finally meet her, I will miss being pregnant. I know that I've been lucky with the pregnancy- not getting sick and not having to deal with any major health problems- but this has been the most exciting and interesting thing that my body and mind have ever been through (and I'm sure labor will be even more "interesting"). It's been amazing learning about what's happening with her development and how my body is changing to accommodate it. It's gone by so fast, but I've been trying not to take it for granted- this is the only time it will be a "first" for us, and I will enjoy it as long as I can!

Escalante Baby Party
Luckily, we have friends who are just as excited as we are (if not more!) and they threw us a Mexican-themed party to celebrate.
I'm still trying to forget how much of this cake I ate.

It's springtime
The snow has finally melted here, and now it's time for the wind! No more precipitation, just 20+ mph winds and lots of dust. Needless to say, we've been spending a lot of time inside. But that means we've had lots of craft time- like knitting, etching glasses and painting onesies for our girl. Unfortunately, I can't find any of our cameras right now, so I'll just have to post a few old pictures of what we've been up to.
April came to visit for a couple of nights. It had been almost 2 years, so it was nice to catch up.
We made up a recipe for ginger chews. Yum.

And we tried on some of my knitting

OH, and we are now officially in the 3rd trimester! It's gone by so fast. I can't believe how lucky I've been with how good I feel and how well everything has been going. Only 12 weeks to go!!!

Mexico
Hawaii was supposed to be our last big trip before we are three, but when Bryan and I got the chance to go to the Yucatan Peninsula with our group of friends from Escalante (and a chance to use up our skymiles), we decided to take it.
This was our home base for the week. Thanks to Shar and Jim, we had a place to make breakfast and just relax when we got tired of the beach.

The group's final dinner together. We ended up with 12 people on the trip. So along with the other 4 Escalante-ians we knew were in the same area, we figured about 2% of the population of Escalante was in Mexico at the same time. Pretty impressive.
We had a good time snorkeling, swimming in cenotes and eating good food. And I think our baby liked it- she was kicking a LOT!!

Names
We just got back from a week-long trip to Mexico, but more on that in the next post.
Bryan and I have been thinking a lot about names for our daughter. I don't think either of us realized how important (and permanent) a decision it is until recently. We decided to make independent lists, and, over a romantic dinner, compare them. Amazingly, we both had a couple of the same names that we really like and have narrowed it down. We're not telling anyone right now, but I'm happy to say, it doesn't include $heb@. Sorry Lauren.
